County looking for volunteers to help spur water project
By Lisa Kitchens
WTHO
Volunteers are being sought to help McDuffie County move forward with a water project in eastern McDuffie County.
McDuffie County Commission Chairman Charlie Newton said he hopes to break ground on the water district project this fall, and paperwork from some 253 water customers needs to be completed to move forward with the project.
Mr. Newton said volunteers will make phone calls to potential customers requesting that they complete the necessary paperwork at Thomson City Hall or a volunteer can contact them at their home. All volunteers will undergo training and have an identification badge for any home visits. Anyone wishing to help in this endeavor, especially residents of the proposed water district, are being asked to contact McDuffie County Clerk Annette Finley by June 15 at 595-2100.
