THOMSON, Ga. - Mr. William "Bill" Berry, Jr., 84, beloved husband of Mrs. Shirley Berry, died Wednesday, June 1, 2005 in Doctors Hospital.
A Funeral Mass was held at 11 a.m. Saturday, June 4, 2005 in the Our Lady Queen of Angels Catholic Church with Rev. Edward O'Connor officiating. Burial was in the Savannah Valley Memorial Gardens.
Mr. Berry was a native of Chicago, Ill., but had lived in Thomson for the past 20 years. He was retired from the Chicago Title and Trust Co. as the Assistant Sales Manager. He was an Army Veteran of World War II. He was a member of Our Lady Queen of Angels Catholic Church. He was involved in various community activities including Kiwanis, the Camera Club, the Friends of the Library, and he was a mentor in the Thomson School System.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Shirley Berry, Thomson; his sister, Mrs. Tom (Nancy) Donohoe, Apple Valley, Minn.; his sister-in-law, Mrs. Jack (Peggy ) Berry, Tampa, Fla.; and three nieces and four nephews.
Pallbearers will be Robert Finnerty, John Stier, Joe Pretzello, Bob Kiel, Grant Norman and Dr. John Bieltz.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the St. Jude Children's Hospital, Memphis, Tenn.
