Reverend Herbert Waldo Elder

HARLEM, Ga. - Entered into rest Thursday, June 2, 2005, Rev. Herbert Waldo Elder, 84, husband of Mrs. Gladys Elder, of Harlem.
Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. Monday, June 6, 2005 at Bethel Baptist Church, Thomson, with the Rev. Tim Ferrell officiating. Interment was held at 2:30 p.m. in the Georgia Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Milledgeville.
Mr. Elder, a native of Oconee County, was a retired minister and a U.S. Army Veteran. He was a member of the Georgia Blinded Veterans Association and attended Bethel Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife of 60 years, Gladys Marie Smith Elder; one son, Thomas E. Elder, Tennessee; one daughter, Linda Carol Aulds, Puerto Rico; one sister, Lillian Hammonds, Athens; and seven grandchildren and one great- grandchild. Pallbearers will be Edward Gay, Donnie Hadden, Gemell Johnson, Judson Lazenbey, Jr., Frank Tankersley and Chris Wallace.
Starling Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
