Taking down the house
|
Keith Bussey with Thompson's Wrecking of Augusta loads debris into a piece of heavy equipment during the demolition of a home on Tom Watson Way. The Watson-Brown Foundation demolished the former home of WTWA radio on the corner of Bethany Drive and Tom Watson Way last week, Watson-Brown Excectuve Director Mary Anne Coussons said. The building, which was constructed during the late 19th century, has always been owned by the Tom Watson estate. Mrs. Coussons said that the building was torn down due to its deteriorating condition. She said that some of the property will become a parking lot, while what to do with the remaining part is still being decided.
