Mrs. Eleanor Gartrell Reid, Retired Educator

BRONX. N.Y.- Mrs. Eleanor Gartrell Reid of 1119 Grant Ave., Bronx, N.Y., died Saturday, May 21, 2004.

Funeral services were held Saturday, May 29, at 2 p.m., at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church, Rayle, with Rev. Ben K. Willis officiating. Rev. James McIver is the pastor. Burial was in the church cemetery and repast in the church fellowship hall.

Mrs. Reid, a Wilkes County native, was a retired educator. She was employed for over 35 years with William H. Taft High School where she worked with the visually impaired.

Survivors include Anthony (Ollie) Gartrell of Atlanta; godson, Melvin Bryant, Bronx, N.Y.; two aunts, Josephine Gartrell, Washington, and Georgia Finch, Louisville, Kent.; one sister-in-law, Della Gartrell; and niece, Pamela Gartrell, both of San Antonio, Tex.

Crawford-Pinkston-Roberts Funeral Home was in charge of the funeral arrangements.
