Neal to wed Smith at State Botanical Garden

Dr. and Mrs. Thomas Jefferson Neal, Jr., announce the engagement of their daughter, Mary Claire, to Mr. Rodney Shane Smith of Commerce, Ga.

The bride is the granddaughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Farriel Ray Williamson of Louisville, and the late Dr. and Mrs. Thomas Jefferson Neal of Thomson. Miss Neal was a 2001 honor graduate of Thomson High School, and received the bachelor of arts degree from the University of Georgia with a major in sociology. She is employed by Baker and Taylor, Inc. in Commerce.

Mr. Smith is the son of Mrs. Barbara Leachman Black and the late Mr. Larry Smith of Ila, Ga. He is the grandson of Mrs. Hoyt Leachman and the late Mr. Leachman, and the late Mr. and Mrs. Leroy Smith of Commerce. Mr. Smith is a graduate of Banks County High School and is employed by Northeast Sales Distributing, Inc., in Winder, Ga.

The wedding will take place June 21 at the Cecil B. Day Chapel at the State Botanical Garden of Georgia. The couple will make their home in Commerce.
