AUGUSTA, Ga. - Mr. William T. Poole, of Augusta, entered into rest Saturday, June 10, 2006 at University Hospital.
A native of Avera, he was a son of the late Joseph Evans Poole and Clyde Williams Poole, and had lived in Augusta for the last 49 years. Mr. Poole retired from Sweetheart Cup Company after 37 years of service. He was also an active member of the New Hope Worship Center, where he was a member of the Sanctuary Choir. He enjoyed traveling and singing, and was a loving husband, father, and grandfather.
Survivors include his wife, Myra Newsome Poole; three children, Katrina Poole Burton of Evans, Joseph Lawson Poole of Thomson, and Sandy Poole Gunn of North Augusta; three grandchildren, Christian Tyler Burton, Ashton Morgan Burton, and Emily Newsome Gunn; a sister, Audrey Williams of Louisville; and a brother, Donald Poole of Gibson.
The funeral was held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, June 13, 2006, at the New Hope Worship Center with Pastors Rich Bowen and Bryan Cockrell officiating. Interment followed in Westover Memorial Park.
Pallbearers were Stan Poole, Larry Cushman, Rodney Connell, Lee Campbell, James O. Gunn. Dr. Brent Limbaugh served as an honorary pallbearer.
