Mrs. Mary Ware Avera

THOMSON, Ga. - Mrs. Mary Ware Avera, 82, widow of Mr. James Avera of Thomson, died Saturday, June 4, 2005 in the Warrenton Health and Rehab.

A memorial service was held at 11 a.m. Thursday, June 9, in the Westview Cemetery, with Dr. George Freeman officiating.

Mrs. Avera was a native of McDuffie County. She was the daughter of the late Mr. Boyd Rivers and Mrs. Gertie Ware Rivers. She was a retired Realtor and a member of the Thomson First United Methodist Church.

Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Jamie and Joe McGowan, Riverside, Calif. and her grandson, Joey McGowen, Riverside.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Thomson First United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 8, Thomson, Ga. 30824.
