Mrs. Mary Ware Avera THOMSON, Ga. - Mrs. Mary Ware Avera, 82, widow of Mr. James Avera of Thomson, died Saturday, June 4, 2005 in the Warrenton Health and Rehab. A memorial service was held at 11 a.m. Thursday, June 9, in the Westview Cemetery, with Dr. George Freeman officiating. Mrs. Avera was a native of McDuffie County. She was the daughter of the late Mr. Boyd Rivers and Mrs. Gertie Ware Rivers. She was a retired Realtor and a member of the Thomson First United Methodist Church. Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Jamie and Joe McGowan, Riverside, Calif. and her grandson, Joey McGowen, Riverside.
