THOMSON, Ga. - Mrs. Marguerite "Mickie" Cartledge Johnson, 83, wife of the late Johnnie F. Johnson of Thomson died Thursday, June 9 at her residence in Lincolnton.
Funeral services were held Saturday, June 11, 2005 at 11 a.m. at Sweetwater Baptist Church with Rev. Kenneth Garvin officiating. Interment followed at Westview Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Eddie Drinkard, Roy Drinkard, James Drinkard, Christ Drinkard, Chad Drinkard, Casey Drinkard and Allen Young.
Mrs. Johnson, daughter of the late Roy and Essie Ross Cartledge was a native of Lincoln County but had lived in Thomson most of her life. She was retired from Thomson Company after 46 years as executive assistant. An active member of Sweetwater Baptist Church for many years, Mrs. Johnson had served on numerous committees.
Survivors are a sister and brother-in-law, Evelyn C. and Edwind Drinkard, Lincolnton; sisters-in-law, Sara Pruitt, Washington, Birdie Craft, Athens, Marjorie Allen, Warrenton; cousin, Christine Williams, Linville Falls, NC; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
