Britney Jo Aycock and Samuel Steward Johnson, Jr. were married at 1 p.m., Saturday, June 11, 2005 at Saint Paul United Methodist Church. Rev. David Jenkins and Alex E. Ferguson, Sr., grandfather of the bride, officiated.
Britney is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Brian Marchant of Thomson and Mr. and Mrs. Ronald Aycock of Lincolnton, Ga. She is the granddaughter of Mr. Alex E. Ferguson, Sr. and the late Mrs. Mary Jo Ferguson and the late Mr. and Mrs. Boyd M. Aycock, Jr., all of Lincolnton, Ga. She is a graduate of Thomson High School and is employed by Augusta Coca-Cola.
Sam is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Steward Johnson of Warrenton, Ga. He is the grandson of Mr. Ed Leach and the late Mrs. Thelma Leach of Union Point, GA. and Mrs. Katherine Johnson and the late Mr. Cecil Johnson of Camak, Ga. He is a graduate of Briarwood Academy and Augusta Technical College and is employed by MTI.
Given in marriage by her father, Britney chose her sister, Marcianne Aycock of Thomson, to serve as her maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Mollie Ferguson, Lincolnton, Ga., cousin of the bride; Holly Johnson, Warrenton, Ga., sister of the groom; Camille Echols, Statesboro, Ga., and Amanda Crosby, Dearing, Ga., both friends of the bride. Junior bridesmaid was Laney Aycock, sister of the bride and flower girl was Abbie Cox, cousin of the bride, both of Lincolnton, Ga.
Sam chose his father to serve as his best man. Groomsmen were Russell Aycock, brother of the bride; Marcus Ferguson, both of Lincolnton, Brad Ferguson, Thomson, cousins of the bride; Brian Williford, Augusta, friend of the groom, and Casey Griffith, Warrenton, Ga., cousin of the groom. Ring bearer was Dakota Reese, Warrenton, Ga., cousin of the groom.
A reception was held immediately following the ceremony at the Saint Paul United Methodist Church Fellowship Hall.
The newlyweds will honeymoon on a cruise to the Bahamas and will reside in Warrenton.
