Mrs. Quinnette Yates Stevenson
Teacher

AUGUSTA, Ga. - Mrs. Quinnette Yates Stevenson, 49, left us on June 11, 2008, after a severe bout with rare blood disorders called myelo fibrosis and cyclic chronic neutropenia.

Quinnette grew up in Madison, Ala., where she was active as a Girl Scout at Madison Methodist Church. She attended Bob Jones High School and served as a cheerleader from 1972 until 1976. While holding a masters degree, she found happiness teaching her fifth graders at Wrens Elementary School..

Quinnette was well loved by her children, John Paul Stevenson, Grace Stevenson, and Kevin Stevenson. Hailey Myer will miss her grandmother, too. Quinnette is missed by her parents: Paul and Ethel Yates, brothers: Davis and Dan Yates, and sister: Carol Yates Conkling.

Services were held in the chapel of Thomas Poteet & Son on Saturday, June 14, 2008, at 11 a.m. with Rev. David Sisler officiating. Quinnette was laid to rest at Savannah Valley Memorial Gardens in Thomson.

Thomas Poteet & Son Funeral Directors was in charge of arrangements.
