Mrs. Johnnie S. Tyner

AUGUSTA, Ga. - Mrs. Johnnie S. Tyner, of Augusta, and formerly of Columbia, S.C., entered into rest June 10, 2008 at Heartland Hospice in Conyers, Ga. She was the beloved wife of the late Ernest C. Tyner.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m., Saturday, June 14, 2008, at the Beggs Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Ray Hope officiating. Interment followed in the Pleasant Grove Baptist Cemetery in Avera, Ga.

Pallbearers were Jim Overton, Hilton "Flip) Timmons, Victor Raley, Al Wheeler, Barry Allen, Billy Dye, Aubrey "Fuzzy) Garner.

Mrs. Tyner was a native of Jefferson County and was the daughter of the late William L. Sheppard and the late Clara Hadden Sheppard. She was a member of North Trenholm Baptist Church in Columbia, S.C.

Survivors include: daughter: Kay Tyner Clark, Stone Mountain, Ga.; granddaughter: Lisbeth Rhine and her husband Tinley Anderson, Atlanta; sisters: Ethel S. Giles, Augusta, and Evelyn Faglier (Harold), Warrenton; brothers: Hadden Sheppard (Lulah), Augusta, and Harold Sheppard (Johnna), Augusta. She was also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or the Pleasant Grove Baptist Cemetery Fund.

Beggs Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
