THOMSON, Ga. - Mr. Shelton K. Dent, 59, died Sunday, June 17, 2007, at his residence.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, June 19, in the Curtis Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Nathan Bednar officiating. Burial was in the Savannah Valley Memorial Gardens.
Mr. Dent was a native of McDuffie County. He was a construction worker. He was a member of the Metropolitan Baptist Church in Atlanta. He was a Navy veteran, having served in Vietnam.
Survivors include his daughter, Carrie Edson Bono, Richmond, Va.; his son, Joshua Edson, Fort Campbell, Ky.; six sisters, Mae D. Milligan, Sandra D. Swain, and Ann D. Darby, all of Thomson, Betty D. Thrift, Wrens, Peggy (Polly) Dent, Lilburn, and Daphne D. DeBeaugrine, Columbia, S.C.; a brother, Henry (Ronnie) Dent, Grovetown; and two grandchildren. Nephews were pallbearers.
