Cadet Joshua Stephen Land of Thomson graduated May 6 from The Citadel, The Military College of South Carolina, along with nearly 400 others in the graduating class.

Marine Gen. Peter Pace, chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff and the principal military advisor to the president, the secretary of defense and the National Security Council, delivered the commencement address to members of the South Carolina Corps of Cadets and military enlisted personnel who completed their undergraduate degrees.
Land earned a bachelor's degree in criminal justice.
Land also achieved Dean's List recognition, which is given to those students registered for 12 or more semester hours whose grade-point ratio is 3.2 or higher with no grade below a C for the previous semester's work.
Land is the son of Keith and Karen Land of Thomson.
