Thomson Rotary Club selected Kristi Boykin and Stephanie Gibson, who are both rising seniors at Thomson High School, as recipients for the Rotary Youth Leadership Award.

Kristi is the daughter of Lewis Boykin, Sr. of Thomson and Stephanie is the daughter of Susan and Patrick Greene of Dearing.

The RYLA recognition for rising juniors and seniors is presented each year by local Rotary Clubs to reward outstanding young people with proven leadership skills or strong leadership potential.

This leadership training program is sponsored by Rotary International. The recipient joins approximately 100 other outstanding young people from northeast Georgia, Rotary District 6910, on a four-day, all-expense-paid conference to promote leadership and team building through fun and challenging activities. This year's conference will be held at Rabun Gap Nacoochee School, Rabun Gap, Ga.
