Mr. Johnson Walter 'Jay' McGahee

AUGUSTA, Ga.- Mr. John Walter 'Jay' McGahee, 81, of Walton Way, Augusta, entered into rest June 17, 2004, at his residence.
Memorial services were held at 2 p.m. Sunday, June 20, 2004, at Scruggs Cemetery, Norwood.
He is survived by Frances V. Griffith of Norwood, Betty Joyce Dye of Gray, Ga., Doris Gardner of North Augusta, S.C., Beth Bays of Atlanta; brothers, Henry Clayton McGahee of Charlotte, N.C. and Richard Marion McGahee of Warrenton; stepmother, Lola Street McGahee of North Augusta.
Mr. McGahee was a native of McDuffie County, but had lived in Augusta, for over 30 years. He was a chief clerk in the U.S. Army during World War II, worked with Pillsbury in Atlanta, and operated Antiques and Furnishings in Augusta.
Beggs Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
