An equine event Saturday at a local farm will be a first for an Atlanta area business.
Horse Show Ventures, which produces hunter jumper horse shows, will broaden its horizons with a one-day open schooling show at Pine Top Farms on Augusta Highway.
It will be the first show outside the metro-Atlanta area for the three-year-old company
Morgan Taylor, president of the Alpharetta company, said she is elated about this weekend's show.
"We're really excited about hosting the show there," she said. "Pine Top is renowned as a world-class eventing facility and Mr. Wilson contacted us and was interested in exposing the public to our type of shows in the Georgia-South Carolina area.
"Our series has grown over the last three years and Pine Top was perfect for us as we branch out our horse show market. This is a great match for us at an exquisite facility. It will be a wonderful day in the country."
The open schooling show is a local rated show and is not sanctioned by a governing body.
"Everybody is invited to compete. You don't have to be a member or competing at a certain level," said Ms. Taylor.
Pine Top co-owner Glenn Wilson said the 500-acre facility is anxious about exposing the Thomson area to this type of show.
"We are excited to have Horse Show Ventures join forces with us in presenting this new type of event," he said.
Additional Horse Show Ventures events are scheduled for August 21 and November 13 at Pine Top. The show is free to the public and begins at 8 a.m.
