Mr. Roger D. Vest, Sr.

DEARING, Ga. - Mr. Roger D. Vest, Sr., entered into rest June 13, 2008 at Hartland Hospice House.

He was the son of the late Roy Lee Vest and Anna Marie Vest Groves. He was also preceded in death by one brother Roy E. Vest. Roger moved to Georgia in 1982 and worked for Glass Service Center, H.E. Moon Glass and Riverside Glass. He retired two years ago. He enjoyed fishing and CB radios and was known on the radio as the One Black Knight.

He is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Denise and Elwood Bartlett, Westminster, Md.; one son, Roger D. Vest, Jr.; and five grandchildren of Baltimore, Md.; one sister and brother-in-law, Shirley and John Helmick, Martinez; one brother and sister- in-law, Gerald and Mary Vest, Dearing; one step brother, Alan Groves, Baltimore, Md., and many nieces and nephews.

Memorial services were held Thursday at 4 p.m. at Dearing Full Gospel Church on Adams Chapel Rd. Rev. Jerry Rockefeller officiating.
