Mr. William Council Hancock
Retired letter carrier

AUGUSTA, Ga. - Mr. William Council Hancock, husband of the late Katherine Youngblood Hancock, entered into rest Monday, June 18, 2007.

Mr. Hancock was a native and life long resident of Augusta. He was a WWII veteran of the US Air Force and a retired letter carrier with the US Postal Service. Mr. Hancock was a Mason, member of the Letter Carriers Association and a member of Pierce Memorial United Methodist Church.

Family members include his sons: Robert A. Hancock (Sheila) of Augusta, Donnie Hancock (Jodi) of Evans, Dr. John P. Hancock (Tannus) of Augusta; daughter: Cheryl Stowe (Mike) of Thomson; brothers: Jim Hancock (Ruth) of Register, Ga., and the late Charles A. Hancock, Sr., and 10 grandchildren.

Graveside services were held Thursday, June 21, 2007, at 2 p.m. at Westover Memorial Park.

Memorials may be made to Pierce Memorial United Methodist Church, 1441 Jackson Rd., Augusta, GA 30909.
