STAPLETON, Ga. - Funeral services for Mr. Ernest E. Gaines, of Stapleton, Ga., were held on Wednesday, June 20, 2007, at 1 p.m. at Burnett Funeral Home with Rev. Dr. Frank Seabrook officiating.
Survivors include his wife, Bessie M. Gaines of Stapleton, Ga.; six sons, Willie James Brown, Stapleton, Ga., Ernest (Alezis) Gaines, III, Winston Salem, N.C., Anthony (Joanne) Gaines, Stapleton, Ga., Darryl (Isabelina) Gaines, Ronald (Lashaunda) Gaines, and Donald Gaines, all of San Diego, Calif.; three daughters, Carmen (Donald) Newton, Decatur, Ga., Teresa (Warren) Jones, Glen Allen, Va., and Juanita (Leroy) King, Louisville; stepfather, Isiah Hudson, Wrens; special grandson, Nathaniel Gaines, Stapleton, Ga.; his siblings, Rufus (Annie) Gaines, Wrens, Clem Glover (Louise) Neal, Thomson, Lucinda Walker and Annie Ruth Leverette, both of Wrens; godson, Glenn Gaines; 33 grandchildren, 22 great- grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
