Rescource fair planned for July 12 at Depot

The Thomson/McDuffie Chamber of Commerce, along with the Georgia Department of Economic Development will sponsor a resource fair for Small Businesses and Entrepreneurs on July 12, at 10 a.m. in the main room of the Depot.

The program, which will last about 1 hours, is being held as part of the Governor's Entrepreneur and Small Business awareness initiative which began in 2004. The Thomson-McDuffie chamber and the chambers of the five-county Clarks Hill Partnership of Georgia are participating together in this state program to become certified as "entrepreneur-friendly" by the Governor's office.

The resource fair will bring together a variety of federal, state and local resources, each giving small presentations on the services they offer for a business just getting started or businesses that are looking for help with planned growth. Some of the organizations represented will be UGA's Small Business Development Center, the USDA, OneGeorgia, Georgia Tech, CSRA Business Lending, Augusta Tech, and representatives from various local banks.

The program is open to the public and there is no fee to attend.
