Mrs. Grace B. Johnson
Co-Owner, Johnson Memorial Chapel, Inc.
Thomson, GA - Mrs. Grace Bailey Johnson, 67, of Thomson, entered into rest Saturday, June 25, 2005, at St. Joseph Hospital after an extended illness.
She was the beloved wife of Mr. John B. Johnson of Thomson and daughter of the late Gene and Lena Wood Bailey.
Mrs. Johnson was a native of Columbia County, but had made her home in McDuffie County most of her life. Co-owner of Johnson Memorial Chapel Funeral Home in Thomson, she served as secretary, treasurer, and office director, where she was affectionately known as "Amazing Grace" for her abilities.
Survivors include her husband, John B. Johnson; two brothers, Mr. Howard Bailey, Sumter, S.C., and Rev. Jim W. Bailey, Harlem; one sister, Mrs. Janette B. McCorkle, Harlem; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held Sunday, June 26, 2005, from the graveside at Camak Memorial Cemetery at 3 p.m. with Rev. Jim W. Bailey and Gene Luke officiating. Nephews were pallbearers.
