Stephanie Bernadette Smith and Nathan William Bonick were married at 7 p.m., Saturday, June 25, 2005 at Queen of Angels Catholic Church. Father Edward O'Conner officiated.


Stephanie is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. James Walker Smith, Jr. of Thomson. She is the granddaughter of Mrs. Marcella N. Pilgrim, the late Clarence W. Pilgrim and Mr. and Mrs. James Walker Smith, all of Thomson. She is a graduate of the University of Georgia, where she earned a bachelor of science in family and consumer sciences.

Nathan is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Bruce William Bonick of Harvest, Ala.. He is the grandson of Dorothy R. Bonick, the late Leonard E. Bonick of Mount Pleasant, Tex., and Mr. and Mrs. Jack D. Angeley of Earth, Tex. He is a graduate of the University of Georgia, where he earned a Bachelor of Business Administration. He is employed by Morgan Stanley as a Financial Advisor in Atlanta.

Given in marriage by her father, Stephanie chose her sister, Brittany Walker Smith of Thomson, to serve as maid of honor. Her sister, Tiffany Smith Franks of Thomson served as matron of honor. Bridesmaids were Brynn Kathleen McDaniel of Appling, cousin of the bride; Taylor Turner Arrington of Matthews, Elizabeth Ann Raley and Christina Lee Swann of Athens; all friends of the bride. Flower girl was Anna Logan Prater of Thomson, cousin of the bride.

Nathan chose his father to serve as best man. Groomsmen were Jeffrey David Bonick of Washington, D.C. and Judson Andrew Bonick of Athens, both brothers of the groom; Jason Matthew Franks of Thomson, brother-in-law of the bride; John Claude Ellis of Athens, and Alex Diaz of Chicago, Ill.; both friends of the groom. Ring bearer was Walton Ralph Franks of Mitchell, nephew of the bride.

Organist was Sheron Finnerty of Thomson. Soloists were Tara Kitchings and Terry Hyatt, both of Appling. Guest and program attendants were Lelia and Bailey Powers of Thomson. Special readings were by Tracy McDaniel of Appling, and Georgia and Danny Pilgrim of Thomson.

A reception was held immediately following the ceremony at Belle Meade Country Club.

The newlyweds will honeymoon in St. Lucia and will reside in Kennesaw.
