Hughes to wed Anthony in August ceremony in Thomson

Dr. and Mrs. David Carroll Hughes of Thomson announce the engagement of their daughter, Katie Nelle Hughes, to Jeremy Richard Anthony, son of Mr. and Mrs. Richard Francis Anthony, Jr., of Rome, Ga. The wedding is planned for 2 p.m. on Aug. 9, 2008, at First Baptist Church of Thomson.

Miss Hughes is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. David Crockett Hughes, Jr. of Thomson and the late Mr. and Mrs. Wilburn Emmett Nash of Washington. Miss Hughes earned a bachelor of arts in piano performance from Berry College and is currently in her fourth year of dental school at the Medical College of Georgia.

Mr. Anthony is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Richard Francis Anthony of Breese, Ill., and the late Mr. and Mrs. James Aloisius Coughlin of Cairo, N.Y. He is a 2001 graduate of Coosa High School. Mr. Anthony earned a bachelor of science in biochemistry from the University of the South and is currently in his fourth year of medical school at the Medical College of Georgia.
