Mr. Brian Alvin Dorn

HEPHIZBAH, Ga.- Mr. Brian Alvin Dorn, 17, of Hephzibah, entered into rest on June 28, 2004.

Funeral Services were held at Elliott Sons Funeral Home, Lumpkin Rd. Chapel on Friday, July 2, 2004 at 2 p.m. with Reverend Tony Miller and David Rangel, Coach of the Hephzibah High School Football Team officiating. Burial followed at Hillcrest Memorial Park.

Survivors include his mother and stepfather, Brenda and David Mathews, Augusta; father and stepmother, Alvin "Buster" and Cynthia Dorn, Jr., Thomson; brothers, Brandon James Dorn, Steven Edward White, Joseph Ryan Mathews and David Michael Mathews all of Augusta; grandparents, Edward and Norma Skinner, Hephzibah, and Bernice Virginia Dorn, Martinez; great grandfather, Glenn Eugene Bohler, also many aunts, uncles and cousins.

Brian was preceded in death by grandparents, Shirley Jeannette (James) Skinner and Alvin H. Dorn, Sr.

A native and lifelong resident of Augusta and Hephzibah, Brian was a rising senior at Hephzibah High School where he played on the football and baseball teams and played football, baseball, basketball and soccer for county teams. Brian was a member of Faith Worship Center, loved fishing and worked for United Moving Co.

Active Pallbearers for the funeral were Cody Gates, Terry Priest, Kevin Nutt, Neil Reed, Justin Weeks, Chris Bowles Broderick Crawford, Justin Derrick, and Aldon Cheek. Honorary Pallbearers were the coaches and members of the Hephzibah High School Football Team.
