THOMSON, Ga.- Mrs. Brenda Joy Monroe Leopard, 61, of Thomson, died Monday, July 5, 2004, at her residence.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, July 7, at 11 a.m. at Sweetwater Baptist Church with Revs. Kenneth Garvin and Bill Cashman officiating. Interment followed at the Oakbrook Memorial Park in Greenwood, S.C.
Mrs. Leopard was born in Shelby, N.C. and lived in Greenwood, S.C. before moving to Thomson 25 years ago. She was a member of Sweetwater Baptist Church in Thomson.
She is survived by her husband, Carroll Leopard; one daughter, Paige L. Thornton of Alpharetta; two grandsons, Harrison Thornton and Charles (Chase) Thornton; her parents, Frank and Jureia Monroe of Columbia, S.C.; one brother, Ted Monroe of Spartanburg, S.C.; and two sisters, Sybil Knight of Columbia, S.C. and Mary Honeycutt of Raleigh, N.C.
Pallbearers were Ricky McCorkle, Bob Raley, Charles Wallace, Matt Echols, Wyman Mitchell, Leon Newsome Jr., Aaron McCorkle and David Bennett. Honorary pallbearers were Charlie Echols, Jimmy Smith, Sammy Luckey, Jimmy Steptoe, Ray Parker, Allen Hess, William Prescott, Joe Baker, Aubrey Montgomery, Preston Timmerman and Milas Bennett.
