Powers named Regions Bank City President for Thomson and Augusta

Tommy Powers will lead the Regions Bank branches in the Thomson and Augusta areas. As City President, Mr. Powers will be responsible for the extensive commercial portfolio as well as business development in the seven county region where there are 17 Regions banking locations.

"Our goal for this dynamic market is growth coupled with premium customer service, said Barry Adams, Central Georgia and Central Carolina Market President. "Tommy has the broad range of experience and the in-depth knowledge of the needs of the market to help us continue that growth.

Mr. Powers replaces Kenneth Usry, Thomson's mayor who recently retired from the bank after many years of service.

With more than 20 years experience in the financial services industry, Mr. Powers has held various positions with Regions Bank, including most recently as Regions Morgan Keegan Private Banker.

A Thomson native, Mr. Powers earned degrees from Georgia College and the University of Georgia Banking School. He is a Certified Financial Planner as well as a Registered Investment Advisor. He attends Trinity on the Hill Methodist Church, coaches Little League baseball and is a member of the Financial Planning Association. He resides in Augusta with his family.
