Mr. Jimmy Cook Buffington

WARRENTON, Ga. - Mr. Jimmy Cook Buffington, 55, died Friday July 6, 2007, at the University Hospital.

Graveside funeral services were held at 3 p.m. Sunday, July 8, 2007, at Savannah Valley Memorial Gardens Thomson, with Rev. Jeanette Purvis officiating.

Mr. Buffington, a native of McDuffie County, was the son of Mrs. Vera Smith Buffington and the late Mr. C.C. Buffington, Jr. He was a photographer with Civil Service at Fort Gordon and a Methodist.

Survivors include his mother, Vera Smith Buffington, Warrenton and his aunt and uncle, Aileen and Roy Johnson, Norwood.

Pallbearers were Gary Johnson, Doug Johnson, Pat Johnson, David Hunter, Dieter Bednarski, Brice Mock, Jimmy Clements, and Ricky Walden. Honorary Pallbearers were Dean Stewart, Tim Echols, Gene Evans, Peter Evans, Lee Davis, Duncan Davis, Willis Stanley, Vann Wilson, and Mr. Buffington's co- workers at Fort Gordon.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Heart Association, 246 Davis Road Augusta, GA 30909

Lowe Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
