Watching Dearing's neighborhoods
|
Eighteen residents met at Dearing United Methodist Church last Thursday for the third Neighborhood Watch meeting. Communications Director Tracy Neal and McDuffie County Deputy Barry Whitfield were featured speakers. Six new block captains were registered. Mayor Sean Kelley said signs have been placed around town, but placement of signs on Hwy. 78 is pending approval from DOT. Plans are in the works for CPR classes and Citizen Police Academy courses for Neighborhood Watch members. The August meeting date has not been set.
