Mrs. Bertha Hunt Green
DEARING, Ga. - Mrs. Bertha Hunt Green of Dearing, entered into rest Saturday, July 2, 2005.
Mrs. Green was a McDuffie County native. She was an active member of Poplar Head Baptist Church of Christ were she served faithfully as a Sunday school teacher, in the senior choir and the Finance Committee until declining health. Mrs. Green was a 1974 graduate of Thomson High School, a past employee of the Thomson Company and the McDuffie County Courthouse and McDuffie County Board of Education.
Survivors include her husband, Mr. Melvin Green; one son, Mr. Kinte Green, both of Dearing; a daughter, Ms. Tyronda Green of Warrenton, and a host of nieces, nephews; four sisters, Mrs. Mary Johnson, Mrs. Helen McNair and Mrs. Katie Louise Hunt, all of Dearing, and Mrs. Martha Mae Walmack of Maryland; four brothers, Mr. Willie Frank (Mary) Hunt, Mr. Levon Hunt, Mr. Quillie (Shirley), Hunt, all of Dearing, and Mr. Glen Hunt of Thomson; seven grandchildren; stepchildren, Melvin Green Jr. of Augusta and Mrs. LaForne (James) Stanley of Atlanta; and other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were held Saturday, July 9, 2005, 2:30 p.m. at Poplar Head Baptist Church of Christ with Rev. David Lowe officiating.
