AUGUSTA, Ga. - Mrs. Adele Whitfield, 85, entered into rest on Thursday July 7, 2005 at University Hospital.
Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. Saturday July 9, 2005 at Southgate Baptist Church with Rev. Joel Hawkins officiating. Interment followed in Westview Cemetery, Thomson, Ga.
Survivors include two sons and daughter-in-law, Thomas E. Cadle, Andrew J. (Julie) Whitfield; three sisters, Martha Smith; a sister Mary Ellen Jones and Mabel Pulbano; five grandchildren, Thomas W. Cadle, David A. Cadle, Angela E. Black, A. David Whitfield and S. Daniel Whitfield ; great-grandchildren Reagan Cadle, Logan Cadle, Tyler Black and Justin Black.
Mrs. Whitfield graduated from the University Hospital School of Nursing in 1941, she retired from nursing in 1979 from the Department of Veterans Affairs - Uptown Division.
Elliott Sons Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
