Learning to defend themselves
Seventeen people took advantage of a self-defense course taught by Steve Shelton, a trooper with the Thomson Post of the Georgia State Patrol.

The two-hour course was conducted at Health Link Saturday. The trooper, who has been offering the courses for years, helped the students learn the basics of self-protection.
