Olympics bound: THS' Morris qualifies for AAU event

Nigel Morris earned the opportunity to compete at the AAU XXXVIII Junior Olympic Games July 27 -- Aug. 7 at Drake University in Des Moines, Iowa.

The Thomson High track team member qualified to compete at the AAU Junior Olympic Games by winning the AAU Region 3B Championship for the 110-Meter Hurdles in 14.24 seconds at Marietta High School in Marietta on Sunday, June 27.

Nigel also won the AAU 2004 Georgia Association Championship for 110-Meter Hurdles in 14.76 seconds at Savannah State University, Savannah, June 13.

Nigel competed at the Eighth Annual AAU National Club Championships at Disney's Wide World of Sports Track and Field Complex at Walt Disney World Resort near Orlando, Fla., on July 7-9.
