A local girl recently placed in a state beauty pageant.
Brittany Ashley, 11, of Thomson, tied for first runner up in her age division of the Pre-Teen Georgia Scholarship and Recognition Program.
The event was held recently at the Westin North in Atlanta. Georgia's best and brightest top female honor students, ages 7-12 competed for over $5,000 in educational bonds, prizes and awards. They also qualified for competition in the 2008 Pre-Teen America National Competition to be held July 2-7, 2008 at the Radisson in Baton Rouge, La.
