Mr. James "Jim" E. Mixon, Sr.
Retired Banker

THOMSON, Ga. - Mr. James "Jim" E. Mixon, Sr., widower of Mrs. Bonnilyn Mixon, died Sunday, July 15, 2007 in the McDuffie Regional Medical Center.

Graveside services were held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, July 17 in the Westview Cemetery with Dr. Jim Ramsey officiating.

Mr. Mixon was a native of Abbeville, Ga, but had lived in Thomson for many years. He was a Navy Veteran and had retired from the banking and financial fields. He was a member of Thomson First Baptist Church.

Survivors include his daughter, Debbie Petrie, Thomson; his son, Jay Mixon, Thomson; and his four grandsons, Kevin Mixon, Tyler Petrie, Jamie Petrie, and Jacob Petrie, all of Thomson.

Honorary pallbearers were Don Newsome, Britt Hammond, John Hammond, Jim Rivers, Marvin Shelton, Joe McCommons, and Howard Johnson.

In lieu of flowers, please make donations to First Baptist Church Family Life Center.

Curtis Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
