Officials seek cause of man's electrocution

Officials are still trying to determine what caused the apparent electrocution death of 48-year-old Wrens-area farmer Randy Gay Sr. on Tuesday.

According to reports, Mr. Gay was working on an irrigation unit's pivot when the accident occurred. His son, Randy Gay Jr., 26, was reportedly injured trying to assist his father.

Randy Gay Jr. drove his father into town to Dr. James Ford's office, where both were transported to Jefferson County Hospital by ambulance.

Randy Gay Sr. was pronounced dead a short time later. His son was observed for complications from electric shock and released Wednesday, officials said.
