Mr. and Mrs. James W. New of Thomson would like to announce the engagement of their daughter, Constance "Connie" Emmanuelle New of Bonita Springs, Fla., to William Wesley "Wes" Mathis of Thomson, son of Mr. and Mrs. Claude Mathis of Thomson.
Connie is the granddaughter of Constantine "Connie" Sivas and the late Barbara Sivas and Eva M. New and the late Benny I. New. She graduated with a bachelor of science degree from Georgia Southern and is employed with Noller Design Group.
Wes is the grandson of Marcella Pilgrim of Thomson and the late Clarence Pilgrim and Marviene N. Mathis of Avera and the late Mr. W. Louis Mathis. He is a graduate of Thomson High School and is a purchasing manager for Yohe Plumbing.
The wedding is set for Aug. 5 at Lovers Key, Fla.
