Mary Beth Holley weds Andrew Boyd Lake III in Thomson

Mary Beth Holley became the bride of Andrew Boyd Lake III during a 4:30 pm ceremony on Saturday, April 29, 2006, at Thomson First United Methodist Church in Thomson. The Rev. Jay F. Tenney officiated.

The bride is the daughter of Thomas and Karen Holley of Thomson. She is the granddaughter of the late Mrs. Betty Jean Morgan Duke, the late Mr. Homer Andrew Duke, Mrs. Mary Imogene Singley Holley, and the late Mr. Earnest Ray Holley, all of Augusta.

The groom is the son of Boyd and Betty Lake of Thomson. He is the grandson of Mrs. Annie Lois Milford Howard and the late Mr. Foster Marshall Howard of Thomson and Mrs. Amos Heyward Frick Lake and the late Mr. Andrew Boyd (Jack) Lake, Jr. of Lincolnton.

Given in marriage by her parents, the bride wore a Jessica McClintock stretch charmuse silk off-the-shoulder gown with cap sleeves, ruched bodice, drop waist and long flared skirt with pleated chapel length train and was accompanied with a floor-length veil. She carried a small bouquet of white hydrangeas and roses accented with Stars of Bethlehem.

Mrs. Kathryn McGaw Blount of Thomson and Mrs. Anna Fincher Pinder of Atlanta were matrons of honor. Bridesmaids were Kathryn Haburchak and Joni Harrison, both of Atlanta, Mary Ann Knox of Augusta, and Whitney Setzer of Arlington, Va.

The bridesmaids each wore a Donna Ricoo avocado green flowing chiffon halter dress with satin inset above the waist and multilayered skirt with asymmetrical hemline. They carried small bouquets of hot pink hydrangeas and roses.

Ava Holley of Fayetteville and Lydia Hamby of Decatur, both cousins of the bride were flower girls. Case Lake of Cumming, nephew of the groom, was the ring bearer.

Boyd Lake was his son's best man. Groomsmen were Matthew Lake of Cumming, P.J. Blount, Jr. and Nathan Lake of Thomson, James Hauck of Columbus, Richard Hawes of Rockmart, Michael Yarbrough of Atlanta, and Wick Cauthorn, Casey Hill, Will Kiser and Michael Ruppersburg, all of Athens.

Scriptures were read by Erin Hlasta of Tampa, Fla., and Blakely Holley of Thomson. The guest book attendant was Victoria Pinson of Martinez. The wedding coordinators were Mrs. Pamela Edmondson and Mrs. Pat Wilson. Mr. and Mrs. Michael Kinnebrew of Monticello and Mrs. Patricia Lokey of Thomson provided music during the ceremony.

Following the ceremony, the bride's parents hosted a reception at the Fitzpatrick Hotel in Washington. Mr. Jim McGaw provided dinner music with his hammer dulcimer and The Fabulous Fun Time Band provided entertainment after dinner. The wedding cake was given by Mrs. Martha Robertson of Augusta and the groom's cake was made by the mother of the groom. Mrs. Beth Rodgers provided catering and Mrs. Cecelia Howell was the florist.

Several parties were given in honor of the couple in the Thomson area by Mrs. Beverly Courson, Mr. and Mrs. Jim McGaw, Mrs. Rose McNeill, Mr. and Mrs. John McGill, Mrs. Dot Knox, Miss Mary Ann Knox, Miss Marsha McCorkle, and Mrs. Ruth McCorkle. Parties in Atlanta were given by Miss Amy Arnold, Mr. and Mrs. P.J. Blount, Ms. Virginia Bondurant, Mrs. Lauri Childs, Mr. and Mrs. Tom Cauthorn, Miss Kathryn Haburchak, Mrs. Heather Hamby, Mrs. Becky Hanchey, Miss Hope Holley, Miss Joni Harrison, Mrs. Anna Pinder, Ms. Lindsay Terry, and Mrs. Hayes Willett.

The couple honeymooned in Bermuda and will reside in Marietta.
