CHARLESTON, S.C. - Mrs. Shirley "Lavon" Duckworth, wife of Donald E. Duckworth, Sr., of Charleston, S.C., entered into rest on July 20, 2005.
Graveside funeral services were held at Live Oak Memorial Gardens, Saturday, July 23, 2005 at 10 a.m.
Arrangements by J. Henry Stuhr, Inc., West Ashley Chapel.
Lavon was born in Pittsburg, Kan., February 8, 1925, the daughter of Ollie Moses and Mary Graham Moses. She was a member of Milcah Temple Daughters of the Nile, Honorary member of St. Andrews Rotary Club, and a volunteer at Roper Hospital for 20 years.
Surviving are her husband of Charleston; one son, Donald E. Duckworth, Jr. of Columbus, Ind.; three daughters, Carol Duckworth of Thomson, Judy Jenkins of Dallas, and Mary Smith of Ravelnel; 14 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren. Lavon was preceded in death by a son, Randy Duckworth.
