GROVETOWN, Ga.- Retired LTC Duane O. Ready, 78, husband of Doris Buffington Ready, of Grovetown entered into rest July 20, 2004 at University Hospital.
Graveside services were held at 2 p.m. Friday July 23, 2004, in the Westview Cemetery, Thomson, Georgia, with full military honors.
Mr. Ready, a native of Franklin, Nebraska, was a retired Lt. Col. U.S. Army and had retired as Supervisor of Logistics Division with Civil Service at Fort Gordon, Ga. He served two tours of duty in Germany, two tours in Vietnam, and two tours in Korea. He was a graduate of Stromsburg High in Nebraska and had earned his bachelors degree in Business Administration from the University of Nebraska. He was a member of the Officers Club and the Forest Hill Golf Club.
Survivors include his wife, Doris Buffington Ready; three sons, James Ready, Junction City, Kansas, Duane Ready II and William Ready, of Savannah; two daughters, Patricia Waters , Junction City, Kansas and Debra Ready, Long Beach, California; two stepsons, Douglas Hallford, Dearing and Joey Hallford, Hephzibah; 18 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren; one step-granddaughter and one brother-in-law, Leon Buffington.
