THOMSON, Ga. - Mrs. Sharon Shipman, 47, of Thomson, formerly of Stone Mountain, Ga., entered into rest on Friday, July 25, 2008, at her residence.
Born and raised in the big city of Atlanta, Sharon planted the roots of her adult life three times in small towns across Georgia. First, in Vidalia; then, in Stone Mountain; and, finally, in Thomson. The genuineness and support of the people and the spirit of small- town living nourished and encouraged her. Sharon never met a person she did not like. Her family wants to thank you for loving her back and for all your expressions of support and love, then and now.
Funeral service were held Wednesday, July 30, 2008 at 2 p.m. at the St. Paul A.M.E. Church, 1704 Stone Mountain Lithonia Rd., Lithonia, Ga., with the Pastor Rev. Dr. T. Nathaniel Hercules and Ronald Shipman, Eulogist.
Survivors are husband, Ronald Shipman; two sons, Ronald, Jr. and Ryland Shipman; parents, Mr. and Mrs. Frank and Mary Reid, Jr.; three brothers, Mr. and Mrs. Steve Hart, Mr. and Mrs. Myron Reid, and Mr. and Mrs. Michael Reid; sister, Mr. and Mrs. Robert (Veronica) McCloudy; and a host of other relatives and friends.
