HARLEM, Ga. - Mr. Charlie Wayne "Ranger" Meadows, Sr., 62, entered into rest Thursday July 27,2006, at University Hospital, Augusta, Ga.
Funeral services were held at 3 p.m. on Sunday, July 30, 2006, at Powell Baptist Church with the Rev. Randall Whitaker officiating. Interment was in South Harlem Memorial Gardens.
Mr. Meadows was born in Moultrie, Ga., and was a Chief Ranger Senior of the Columbia County Unit for the Georgia Forestry Commission for more than 30 years. He was Coordinator for the Columbia County Sheriff's ATV Unit. He was also Chairman of the Columbia County Forestry Board. Mr. Meadows was a member of the Grovetown Masonic Lodge and Powell Baptist Church. He was a dedicated and loving daddy, papa, and friend to all.
Survivors include son Charlie (Chuck) W. Meadows, Jr. and wife, Kim, Harlem; son, Russell (Rusty) F. Meadows and wife, Krista, Dublin; daughter, Deanna (Dee Dee) Meadows Power, Harlem; grandchildren, Christian and Caitlynn Power, Gabriel and Gideon Meadows, and Tucker Meadows; two sisters, Linda Knoeferl and Shawn Coleman; one brother, Anthony Meadows; two dear friends, Irving (Shug) Knox and George (Scontch) Marshall; he was preceded in death by his parents Charlie B. and Pansy N. Meadows.
Pallbearers were Matthew Knoeferl, Christopher Knoeferl, Brad Knoeferl, Hal Sharpe, Ken Coleman, and Mark Munns. Honorary pallbearers were Georgia Forestry Commission employees and members of the Columbia County Sheriff's Office ATV Unit.
