Mrs. Ethel Cranford Shelton

THOMSON, Ga. - Mrs. Ethel Cranford Shelton, 76, entered into rest Friday, July 28, 2006 at Medical College of Georgia. She was the beloved wife of the late Mr. Joseph O. Shelton.

Funeral Services were held at 4 p.m. Monday July 31, 2006 at Prospect United Methodist Church with Elder George Nichols, Rev. Stan Holsonback and Rev. Susan Barnes officiating. Burial followed in the church cemetery.

Mrs. Shelton, a native of Warren County was the daughter of the late J. C. and Ola Mae Johnson Cranford. She was a homemaker and a member of the Prospect United Methodist Church and the Adult Sunday School Class. Mrs. Shelton was a member and Past Matron of the Frances Bell Chapter # 75 O.E.S. and a former secretary of the North Atlantic Girl Scouts of Europe and a Girl Scout leader.

Survivors include four daughters, Elaine S. (Bill) Dent, Hawkinsville, Ga., Linda S. (George) Nichols, Thomson, Susan S. (Jaffrey) Montgomery, Warrenton, and Brenda S. (Dale) Reed, Mitchell; two sisters, Gloria Williams, and Pansy Pearson, both of Thomson; two brothers, Ronnie Cranford, Thomson, and Jimmy Cranford, Athens; seven grandchildren, George Scott Nichols, Joe Dent, Bobby Montgomery, Kimberly Gunby, Gary Dent, Kristen Nichols, and J. C. Montgomery; one great-grandson, Joshua Ryan Montgomery.

Pallbearers were Guy Shivers, Alan Johnson, James Cranford, Chris Gunby, Bobby Montgomery, Joey Dent, and Gary Dent.

Lowe Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
