WARRENTON, Ga. - Mr. Fred Horace Philpott of Brown Circle, Warrenton, entered into rest August 1, 2005 at the V.A. Medical Center. He was the beloved husband of Sarah Griswell Philpott.
Survivors include his wife, Sara Griswell Philpott; daughter and son-in-law, Gay and Lester David, Warrenton; son and daughter-in-law, Sonny and Mickey Pierce, Warrenton; sisters, Ellen Smith, South Pittsburgh, Tenn., Leato Paul, Tennessee and Patsy Philpott; eight grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a son, Fred Allen Philpott and a daughter, Joyce Elizabeth McDonald.
Mr. Philpott was a native of South Pittsburgh, but lived most of his life in Warrenton. He was the son of the late Horace Philpott and the late Sally Vinson Philpott. Mr. Philpott was retired as an electrician from Uniroyal, served in the U.S. Army during WWII and was a member of First Baptist Church in Warrenton.
Memorial services were held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, August 3, 2005 at Johnson Cemetery in Warrenton County with Rev. Rob Bray officiating.
Memorial contributions may be made to First Baptist Church Warrenton or to the V.A. Nursing Home.
Beggs Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
