THOMSON, Ga. - Funeral services for Deacon James Roy Harris, 74, Thomson, were held on Wednesday, August 6, 2008, at 2:30 p.m. at the Thankful Baptist Church, Gibson, with the Rev. Leroy Hudson officiating. Interment was in the churchyard cemetery.
Survivors are loving wife, Mary W. Harris, Thomson; one son, Ronald "Ronnie" Harris; five daughters, Rhonda Brown, Tasha Allen, Tauheedah Williams, all of Thomson, Jacquelinette Dorsey, Harlem, Melissa "Missy" Sims, Atlanta; one step-son, Billy Pete Winfrey, Augusta; sister, Virginia Hill, Thomson; brother, Hardwick (Laverne) Harris, Columbus, OH; three sisters-in-law, Mattie (Dennis) Chapman, Jackson, Ga., Jean (Robert) Collins, Thomson, Vandella Thomas, Sharon, PA; one daughter-in-law, Doris Ashbury Harris, Wilkes County; 24 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
Thomson Funeral System was in charge of arrangements.
