Mr. Bud Norman

THOMSON, Ga. - Mr. Bud Norman, 87, beloved husband of Mrs. Sue Norman, died Sunday, August 3, 2008, at his residence.

Funeral services were held at 2:30 pm Wednesday, August 6, 2008, in the Little Brier Creek Baptist Church with Dr. Randy Dunaway and Rev. Bill Seaman officiating. Burial was in the Savannah Valley Memorial Gardens.

Mr. Norman was the son of the late Fred and Barbara Norman. He was born in McCormick S.C., but had lived in Thomson for many years. He was the owner-operator of Thomson Tire & Retreading Co. for the past 50 years. He was a Navy veteran of W.W. II. He was a member of the Little Brier Creek Baptist Church. He was a member of the Thomson Shrine Club and was a member of the Masonic Lodge #011. He was a member of the Cattlemen Association, where he was named Cattleman of the Year.

He was preceded in death by his grandson, Brandon Norman and four brothers, Clemon Norman, Garland Norman, Clarence Norman, and Grady Norman.

He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Sue Norman; his son, Mr. Marvin (Iris) Norman; his granddaughter, Ms. Amanda Norman; his special nephews, Jimmy (Faye) Norman and Scott (Pam) Huff; his four sisters, Miss Nannie Mae Norman, Mrs. Ruby (Clifton) Pulliam, Mrs. Gazzie (Alex) Hobbs, and Miss Colleen €˜Sis' Norman; special friends, Mr. Simon €˜Pee Wee' Morgan and Mr. David Hicks; his sister-in-law, Mrs. Jeanette Norman; and several nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers were Doug Norman, Freddie Norman, Allan Hobbs, Leslie Winter, Chris Norman, and Colby Prior. Honorary pallbearers were the Thomson Shrine Club.

Curtis Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
