Holton marries Johnson in Hilton Head

Kellie Lauren Holton and David Ronald Johnson were united in marriage on March 31, 2007, at 6 p.m. under The Liberty Oak Tree located in Harbour Town, Sea Pines Resort, Hilton Head, S.C. The Rev. Roger Taylor and the Rev. Steven Golden performed the ceremony. Music was provided by a string duo, Catherine Klimoff and partner.

The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Chad Holton of Millen, Ga. The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. James Ronald Johnson of Thomson. Grandparents of the bride are Mr. and Mrs. Lawton Ellis Kemp, Sr. of Dexter, Ga., and Mrs. Robert LaDon Holton of Millen, Ga. The groom's grandparents are Mr. Robert Edward Poss, Sr., and Mr. and Mrs. James Benjamin Johnson of Thomson.

Given in marriage by her parents, the bride wore a gown of ivory taffeta designed by Jasmine. The bodice of the gown was hand-ruched and crystal and pearl adorned the neck and dropped waist line of the strapless gown. The chapel train of her A-line gown was beautifully bustled for the reception. Miss Holton wore a two-tiered fingertip veil with a finished edge. The bride carried a bouquet of white calla lilies, accented with beargrass and hand-tied with raffia ribbon and seashells.

The bride chose Frances Joy Gay as her Maid of Honor. Bride's attendants included Brittany Blair Burke, Lindsey Marie Koon, Kimberly Ann McMillan, Haley Brannen Tillman, and Ashley Lynn Williams. The bridesmaids wore strapless black taffeta gowns designed by Jim Hjelm. A twisted band of taffeta accented the dropped waist and the trumpet skirt of the gown was floor length. The bride's attendants carried hand-tied bouquets of red tulips and yellow daisies accented with beargrass.

The bride chose Ana Beth Waters, Kellyn Shea Werner, and Peyton Elizabeth Werner as her flower girls. They wore white ecru silk organza sleeveless dresses with a black taffeta sash around the waist tied in the back. They carried rose petals in white beach pails flowing with red and yellow ribbon accented with tiny seashells.

The groom chose his father, James Ronald Johnson, as his best man. Groomsmen were Matthew Warren Duke, Benjamin Thomas Johnson, Daniel Edward Johnson, Jason Paul Milford, and Robert Walter Smith. Lawson Chadwick Holton served as junior groomsman. Ushers were James Victor Power and Taylor Patric Power.

A dinner reception, given by the bride's parents, was held at The Plantation Club, Sea Pines Resort, Hilton Head, S.C. Mrs. Bobbie Reid greeted guests as they entered to enjoy light refreshments and a photo montage of the bride and groom's childhood through the present. The buffet table was decorated with a tall calla lily centerpiece accented with yellow daisies and red tulips. Tables were decorated with crystal cubes containing red tulips, yellow daisies, and white roses surrounded by tea lights and red and yellow rose petals. Guests enjoyed dinner, music, and a great time celebrating with the bride and groom.

After a honeymoon trip to St. Lucia, the couple now resides in Grovetown.
