Deacon Joe (Eubanks) Sturgis THOMSON, Ga. - The funeral for Deacon Joe (Eubanks) Sturgis, 67, of Thomson, was held on Saturday, August 6, 2005 at 2 p.m. at the Langston Grove Baptist Church with Rev. Garnie Shorter officiating. Interment was in the church cemetery. Survivors include his wife, Gladys Sturgis, Thomson; seven children, Betty Edwards, Catina Sturgis, Jackie Sturgis, James Neal, all of Thomson, Shanta Ross, Willis Belton, both of Atlanta, and Perry Sturgis of Washington; a sister, Fannie Clark of Detroit, MI; 11 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren and other relatives and friends.
