WARRENTON, Ga. - Mrs. Vergie Stevenson, 86, widow of Mr. Lester Stevenson, died Tuesday, August 5, 2008, at her residence.
Graveside services were held Friday, August 8, in the Savannah Valley Memorial Gardens, with Rev. Mike Sutphin officiating.
Mrs. Stevenson was a native of Bogalusa, La., but had lived in Warrenton for several years. She was a homemaker and a Baptist. She was preceded in death by her husband and a son, John Thomas Stevenson.
She is survived by four daughters, Janice Smith, Dearing, Carol Crawford, Harlem, Louise Stevenson, Warrenton, and Kathleen Brown, Thomson; four sons, Jerry Stevenson, Warrenton, Norman Stevenson, Thomson, Kenneth Stevenson, Lincolnton, and Lester Stevenson, Chatsworth; a sister, Mrs. Louise Gray, Houma, La.; a brother, Paul Gray, Houma, La.; 27 grandchildren, 32 great- grandchildren, and two great-great- grandchildren.
