Mrs. Edna E. Minton

THOMSON, Ga. - Mrs. Edna E. Minton, 90, widow of Mr. Oakley R. Minton, of Michael St., died Thursday, August 9, 2007, in the McDuffie Regional Medical Center.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Sunday, August 12, at Thomson First Baptist Church with Dr. James Ramsey and Rev. Nancy Morgan officiating. Burial was in the Savannah Valley Memorial Gardens.

Mrs. Minton was a native of Telfair County, but had lived in Thomson for many years. She had retired from the McDuffie County Transportation Department after many years of service. She was a member of the Thomson First Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Mr. Oakley R. Minton and her son, Mr. Oakley L. Minton.

She is survived by her two daughters, Mrs. Barbara Spivack, Irmo, S.C. and Mrs. Anita Frost, Elberton, Ga.; four sisters, Lucille Tyson, Ft. Myers, Fla., Sybil Durrence, Savannah, Janie Trapp, Lexington, S.C., and Jean Martin, Gordo, Ala.: a brother, Joe Williams; seven grandchildren and six great grandchildren.

Pallbearers were Gary Spivack, Jeff Spivack, Dana Frost, Glenn Flath, Steven Spivack, and Greg Minton.

Curtis Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
